Calling all students who are serious about social innovation! We want your enthusiasm and ideas to join us in Ecuador January 2015 to better understand social entrepreneurship on an international stage. Have you ever wanted to work or serve internationally? Or maybe you already are, but want to gain a deeper understanding of the in's and out's of working across cultures and borders.
On this trip we will explore innovation in Ecuador by meeting with entrepreneurs, students, professors, and government organizations who are leading the way in social economics. We will do case studies with real companies to explore the challenges they are facing and contribute ideas about how to help them increase their impact. We will be working with the Center for Entrepreneurship at the Universidad de San Francisco de Quito as well as a variety of local companies and organizations.
There will be pre-departure workshops to prepare for this experience in November. Students are invited to bring an area of expertise they would like to explore that will guide them in the creation of their own ventures the following semester. This trip will give you an inside look at working across cultures, across borders, and across social issues.
Students will receive 1 credit hour of Independent Study for participating on the trip and have the opportunity to continue their work Spring semester if they choose.
